Tunable Physical Properties of VSe<sub>2</sub> hexagonal disks

Abstract Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) belonging to the family of two-dimensional (2D) materials have received a great deal research interest over past few decades due their unique electronic, optical, mechanical, and magnetic properties as compared three-dimensional (3D) counterparts. Magnetism in reduced dimensions, such 2D materials, is an underexplored phenomenon, though it has potential for numerous applications, including fabrication memory devices spintronics devices. In this work, we report structural, morphological, characterization hexagonal disks VSe 2 prepared by hydrothermal method. The structural morphological confirms formation 1T-VSe . measurements show that paramagnetic entire range study, from 5–300 K, with S–type isothermal magnetization behavior at low temperatures. field cooling (FC) data collected applied 0.5T reveals hump temperature 118 which can be correlated charge density wave (CDW) transition point. increase CDW 107 K (bulk) indicates decrease thickness. detailed analysis shows tunability physical its
